Trump called Putin “absolutely crazy” after Russia launched deadly strikes in Ukraine.

After a deadly night in Ukraine that saw at least 13 people lose their lives, Donald Trump sharply criticised Russian President Vladimir Putin, calling him “absolutely crazy” in a post on Truth Social.

Russia had just launched 367 drones and missiles, the highest number fired since the invasion started in 2022. Trump reacted by saying “something has happened” to Putin and accused him of killing innocent people without reason.

Meanwhile, the Kremlin pushed back against Trump’s comments. Putin’s spokesman, Dmitry Peskov, said the former U.S. president’s words were influenced by emotions, not facts.

“These remarks are connected to an emotional overload of everyone involved,” said Peskov in an interview with Russian news outlets.

Tensions Rise as Strikes Continue and Diplomacy Wavers

As the fighting worsens, Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelensky blamed Russia’s latest actions on politics, not war strategy. He said Putin was choosing war over peace and life.

Not long after, another round of strikes reportedly killed 10 more civilians, with 355 drones launched in one night, making it Ukraine’s worst drone attack yet.

Germany also made a strong move by removing range limits on weapons it sends to Ukraine. This now gives Ukraine the green light to hit targets deep inside Russia. Analysts believe this decision could lead to Berlin finally approving the use of Taurus missiles, which can strike up to 500km away.

Trump also took aim at Zelensky, saying the Ukrainian leader is partly causing tension with his public tone. He warned that the U.S. might lose patience with Ukraine’s diplomatic approach if things continue this way.

Despite all the heated statements, both Moscow and Washington confirmed that private talks for a ceasefire are still happening. Trump said he recently had a two-hour phone call with Putin and believes negotiations could begin soon. However, Ukraine’s allies are not confident in Russia’s real intentions.

As of now, Russia still controls about 20% of Ukraine’s land, and the situation remains tense.
