A 50-year-old woman in Busia has surprised locals by saying she is Mary, the mother of Jesus.
In a quiet village in Busia County, a 50-year-old woman has left many speechless after boldly declaring that she is Mary, the mother of Jesus Christ. Judith Nafula made this claim during an interview with local journalists, stating that her life is connected to the Bible in more ways than one.
She went further and said that her husband is Joseph — referring to the same Joseph known as Jesus’ earthly father in Christian belief. Nafula’s announcement has become the talk of the area, sparking surprise, questions, and even disbelief.
“I Was Born Looking White,” Says Nafula
While explaining her story, Nafula recalled what her mother told her about her birth. She claimed she was born with white skin and only her hair was black — something that shocked even the doctors at the time.
“Mama aliniambia kuzaliwa kwangu nilikua mzungu, nywele tu ndio ilikua black. Madaktari wakashangaa Mwafrika kuzaa Mzungu,” she said.
Many in the community are unsure how to take the news. Some are eager to hear more from her, while others remain skeptical about the truth in her words. Up to now, no statement has been released by church leaders or local officials about her claims.
