Drama on TikTok: “Afrikaner refugee” accused: The stepdaughter of Afrikaner “refugee Errol Langton” has claimed he “lied” on his application to leave South Africa and settle in the US.
Alleged to be “lying” in his application to be an Afrikaner “refugee” in the US, is a man from South Africa.
Errol Langton, a Johannesburg man, has been accused of “lying” about being an Afrikaner to enter the US under “refugee” status.
His stepdaughter made the accusations in a run of TikTok videos.
49 white South Africans arrived in the United States this week under a resettlement program approved by President Donald Trump.
SA “REFUGEE” ACCUSED OF LYING OVER AFRIKANER TITLE, LIFE IN SA
In a TikHub video that has gone viral, young woman Geneve Gouws says she was startled to discover footage of her estranged stepfather and his eight family members arriving in the US as Afrikaner “refugees.”
She said, “I’m completely shocked.” What exactly do they need protection from? They hardly even qualify as Afrikans.
Gouws then asserted that her former stepfather “lied” on his application seeking to be a “refugee.”
She also thought that events involving domestic violence with her mother, whom her dad had recently divorced, explained his assertions of being a “victim of crime”.
“What lie will you have to tell to reach America?” She said as well.
Langton, a businessman from South Africa, defended his designation of “refugee” Afrikaner on his own TikHub account.
Responding to allegations made by his former stepdaughter, he said: “I have an Afrikaner background. Long ago, my family decided against speaking Afrikaans and instead started speaking English. Because that was the media most thought to be efficient for getting around and finishing tasks.
“Just purely a functional change; not because of any dislike of Afrikaans”.
He said: “I worked in farming. For more than three years, I leased or owned a property where I tried to get commercial farming going and raised leafy greens.
“So tell me, why do I not fit for this programme?” he said.
“I might be two generations from being actively Afrikaans and speaking English. Still, I am a South African Afrikaner, and that is a reality.
