MOM ACCUSED OF STABBING HER HUSBAND, HER 3-YEAR-OLD AND HER 10-MONTH-OLD BABY
A Texas mother is facing attempted capital murder charges after police say she stabbed her husband and their two young children during a terrifying early-morning incident inside the family’s Northlake home.
Holly Leeann Flores, 37, was arrested Tuesday, Oct. 6, after her 34-year-old husband called 911 around 4:20 a.m. and reported that his wife had a knife and had stabbed him in the head.
According to Northlake Police Chief Robert Crawford, information from the 911 call indicated the husband was attempting to get to the couple’s children in another room while Flores was allegedly trying to stab him.
Officers arrived at the home in the 1200 block of Daylily Drive within minutes and detained Flores. But when officers conducted a protective sweep of the home, they discovered that the couple’s children had also been seriously injured. Police found the couple’s 3-year-old daughter and 10-month-old son suffering from stab wounds to their chests.
Both children were rushed to a Fort Worth hospital, along with their father, who suffered injuries to his head.
Crawford said the husband and both children remained hospitalised Tuesday but were expected to survive.
Flores was also injured during the incident. Crawford said she suffered a “small cut on her chest area” and received stitches at a hospital before being released and transported to the Denton County Jail.
Flores now faces two counts of attempted capital murder and one count of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
Police also said officers had been called to the family’s home about five times since March, with most of those calls involving welfare concerns.
Crawford declined to elaborate on the circumstances of those calls while the investigation remains ongoing.
“I don’t want to say anything out of context right now, so some of that information will probably come out later,”
Crawford said when questioned about the previous police responses.
Investigators have not publicly identified a motive for the alleged attack.“It’s very heartbreaking when we have to respond to a traumatic event such as this,” Crawford said.
The investigation remains ongoing, and additional details are expected to be released as detectives work to determine what led up to the violence.
