Hennops Horror: Five Bodies Found as Search for Missing Free State Officers Turns Deadly

Hennops Horror: Five Bodies Recovered from Hennops River as Search for Missing Free State Police Officers Takes a Grim Turn.

On Tuesday morning, authorities confirmed the recovery of three bodies from the Hennops River in Centurion, located near Tshwane.

Police are investigating whether these remains are connected to three members of the South African Police Service (SAPS) who disappeared under mysterious circumstances last week.

Brigadier Athlenda Mathe, the national police spokesperson, stated that the identities of the deceased have yet to be established.

“The SAPS confirms that our investigation has led us to the Hennops River in Centurion along the N1. We currently have three bodies, whose identities have not yet been confirmed,” Mathe remarked.

“We are also searching for an additional body and any other evidence that may help us resolve the case involving the missing police officers.”

Although not officially verified, there is speculation that the recovered bodies could belong to the missing officers: 20-year-old Constable Boipelo Senoge, 24-year-old Constable Cebekhulu Linda, and 30-year-old Constable Keamogetswe Buys.

The last sighting of the officers was reported in the early hours of Thursday at a petrol station near the Grasmere toll gate on the N1 in Gauteng.

On Sunday, National Police Commissioner General Fannie Masemola announced a reward of R350,000 for any information that could assist in locating the three missing officers.

Masemola spoke to the media in Bloemfontein, accompanied by senior officials, including Free State Premier Maqueen Letsoha-Mathae and Deputy National Police Commissioner for Crime Detection Lieutenant General Shadrack Sibiya.

“We remain hopeful and are committed to finding those responsible for this incident. We will not rest until justice is served.

To that end, we have issued a reward of R350,000 for any information regarding the whereabouts of our members and the individuals responsible for their disappearance,” he stated.

Newsiah.com previously reported that the last known location of the three officers was the Engen fuel station in Gauteng on Thursday.

After leaving the station, both the vehicle tracking device and their cell phones were deactivated.

The three were travelling in a Volkswagen Polo hatchback with the registration number JCL 401 FS.
