Colonel Mustafa has opened up about his current relationship, revealing he is dating a woman who is deaf. Speaking to Alex Mwakideu in an emotional interview, Mustafa said his partner lost her hearing recently after she was hit by a stone during a trip. He has chosen to keep her identity private but described her as someone he deeply loves.
The “Umenikumbuka” hitmaker admitted that life took a downward turn after his music slowed down. He was spotted working at a mjengo site, which went viral and shocked fans. Many Kenyans were quick to come to his aid, raising over a million shillings to support him and help pay for his mother’s cancer treatment.
Mustafa admitted that most of the money he received got lost in what he described as “lust.” He expressed regret and said he wishes he had handled things differently. Despite this, he remains hopeful and is focused on rebuilding his life and career.
Born in Dar es Salaam to a Kenyan father and Tanzanian mother, Mustafa later moved to Kenya where he completed his education. His career began when he was discovered by Lucas of Ogopa DJs in 2003. He first joined Dessert Vultures, then formed Deux Vultures with Nasty Thomas after their hit single “Monalisa.”
