Kenya Safari Lodges and Hotels has added two new buses to its fleet. The buses will serve Voi and Ngulia Safari Lodges in Tsavo East and West.

Kenya Safari Lodges and Hotels (KSLH) has rolled out two new Isuzu buses to improve efficiency at its properties in Tsavo National Parks. The buses will serve Voi Safari Lodge in Tsavo East and Ngulia Safari Lodge in Tsavo West.

The two lodges are part of KSLH, a subsidiary of the Kenya Development Corporation (KDC). The new vehicles are expected to support the smooth movement of staff and guests within the wide Tsavo ecosystem.

The buses were officially flagged off at Isuzu East Africa’s assembly plant along Mombasa Road. The ceremony was led by Mr Herman Shambi, Administrative Secretary in the Ministry of Tourism and Wildlife, on behalf of Cabinet Secretary Rebecca Miano.

Officials from KSLH, board members, and senior managers from Isuzu East Africa also attended the event.

Speaking during the event, Mr Shambi said continued investment in tourism facilities is key to keeping Kenya competitive on the global stage. He noted that tourism contributes about 10 per cent of the country’s GDP and supports more than two million jobs.

He added that improving services in major destinations like Tsavo helps improve visitor experience and strengthens local tourism.

KSLH Board Chairperson and KDC Director General, Ms Norah Ratemo, said the new buses are part of a broader plan to modernise operations and improve performance across KSLH properties.

She noted that Voi and Ngulia Safari Lodges play an important role in Kenya’s safari tourism and regional development.

Acting General Manager Ronald Simiyu said the buses will make daily operations easier by improving staff transport and guest transfers. He added that the investment supports tourism growth, conservation efforts, and local livelihoods.

Isuzu East Africa Director of Sales and Marketing, Wanjohi Kangangi, said supplying locally assembled buses supports Kenyan jobs, skills, and the manufacturing sector.

The two Isuzu NQR 33-seater buses were assembled in Kenya. They are expected to improve safety, reliability, and efficiency while supporting the government’s Buy Kenya, Build Kenya policy.

KSLH says the move reflects its commitment to quality service, sustainability, and long-term growth in Kenya’s tourism sector.
