Climax Coaches has issued a statement following the death of former Lugari MP Cyrus Jirongo, who died in a tragic road accident on Nairobi-Nakuru road at Karai in Naivasha.
An official said that the vehicle was carrying 46 passengers during the fatal head-on collision that ended the life of the former member of parliament, who also served as a minister.
The management said that they got a phone call from the driver on December 13, 2025, who informed them about the accident.

The company denied reports alleging foul play in the MP’s death, adding that they have provided all the information needed to the police and that the passengers were rescued by another bus.
The statement, which was issued on December 24, 2025, caught the attention of a section of Kenyans who took to social media platforms to express their concern, wanting to know why the company and the driver gave conflicting statements.

Kamau Githinji, the man who was driving the bus that collided with the former member of parliament, said that he was carrying 65 passengers.
He alleged that Cyrus Jirongo failed to give way after leaving a petrol station, leading to the deadly road accident that killed him on the spot.
