Saumu Mbuvi, the first-born daughter of former Nairobi Governor Mike Mbuvi Sonko, has revealed that she has plans to join politics and vie for a top seat in the upcoming 2027 general elections.
The sassy mental health advocate actually wants to follow in her father’s footsteps, and contest for the Makadara Constituency seat.
It can be remembered that Mike Sonko served as the Makadara MP from 2010 to 2013, before he later became the senator and governor for Nairobi County.
Saumu Mbuvi actually made this clear in a recent engagement session that she had with her instagram followers, where she asked them to give their opinions regarding the seat that they want her to contest for.
The mother of two actually gave them two options, between the Nairobi Woman Representative seat and the Makadara Constituency seat.
When one person responded by telling Saumu Mbuvi to go for the Makadara Constituency seat, she was elated by this because it meant that she will be following her father’s footsteps.
“Kabisa…Makadara is not new to me…its the soil that once held my father’s dream, and now it calls me to rise where his journey began” Saumu Mbuvi said.
If Saumu Mbuvi is indeed serious about wanting to contest for the Makadara Constituency seat, then it will mean that she wants to succeed the current MP George Aladwa.
The ODM party legislator will have served in that position for two full terms by 2027.
