Controversial Nairobi County Chief Officer Geoffrey Mosiria sparked discussions online after openly questioning the financial status of socialites Amber Ray and Diana Marua.
During an interview on Milele FM, Mosiria said he is aware of both women presenting themselves as “Bibi za tajiri” (rich ladies). He, however, dismissed these claims, insisting that neither of them is genuinely wealthy.
“Hakuna bibi ya tajiri hapo. Wealth is silent. True wealthy women live in quiet suburbs like Runda and Karen, not out here showing off,” Mosiria said.
Mosiria highlighted that the two women do not reside in upscale neighbourhoods. Amber Ray rents a house in Syokimau, while Diana Marua lives in Kamakis.
He explained that their public display of wealth is mostly a way to remain in the limelight and trend on social media.
“They have to trend online to get advertisement deals. That’s why they brag, not because they are genuinely rich,” he added.
Mosiria’s remarks have stirred reactions on social media, with some agreeing that online fame often masks real financial status, while others defended the socialites’ lifestyle choices.
