Lugari MP Threatens to Sue Bloggers Over Missing Munyuki High School Principal Case

Munyuki High School Principal Simon Isiaho Shange has been missing since November 3, 2025. Lugari MP Hon. Nabii Nabwera has threatened to sue three bloggers for linking him to the disappearance.

The disappearance of Mr Simon Isiaho Shange, Principal of Munyuki High School in Lugari Constituency, has raised anxiety among residents after he went missing following a minor road mishap along the Eldoret–Malaba Highway on November 3, 2025.

While his vehicle was recovered, his whereabouts remain unknown.

The case sparked heated debate online after several bloggers shared posts alleging that Lugari MP Hon. Nabii Nabwera was connected to the disappearance.

Through his lawyer, Danstan Omari, the MP dismissed the posts as malicious and defamatory.

“This matter should not be politicised. The MP is equally concerned and wants the DCI to conduct a thorough, professional investigation,” Omari said.

The lawyer confirmed that the MP has instructed him to write to the DCI to ensure all leads are followed and the truth established.

Omari revealed that three individuals, Peter Amunga, George Opunga Tamata, and Simon Asievela, had published posts suggesting the MP was involved.

“These statements are defamatory and have caused significant damage to the MP’s reputation locally and nationally,” Omari stated.

He confirmed that demand letters have been served, giving the bloggers 12 hours to: Accept liability, Issue formal public apologies, Delete all defamatory posts Compensate the MP

Failure to comply will result in legal action beginning Monday, with each blogger facing a Sh20 million defamation claim.

Some online posts had alleged that the principal and the MP disagreed over school funds and CDF-sponsored sports programs.

However, supporters of the MP dismissed the claims as politically motivated.

Omari urged the public and social media users to allow investigators to handle the matter objectively.

“Defamation is a serious offence. We urge the public to respect the legal process and avoid spreading unverified claims,” he added.

The search for the missing principal continues, with residents hoping for his safe return as tension remains high across Lugari.
