Azziad says she has already cleared her loan arrears in full. She accuses the financial institution of attempting to recall the loan early.
Media personality Azziad has filed a case in court to stop her apartment from being auctioned. According to the documents, she says she legally bought the property through a mortgage from a deposit-taking SACCO. The apartment is valued at around Sh20.3 million. She states that she has been making regular monthly contributions and was granted a loan of Sh20,389,720 in April 2024.
Azziad admits she went through economic challenges, which caused temporary loan arrears of Sh1.51 million. She explains that the SACCO later deducted Sh2.45 million from her savings account, clearing everything she owed. She now insists she is not in arrears and that the loan is up to date.
The auction notice was issued on September 24, 2025. Azziad argues that the notice is unlawful, claiming the property was undervalued and that the proper procedure under the Land Act was not followed. She says the institution is trying to recall the entire loan amount before it is due, which she considers a breach of their agreement.
Azziad is asking the court to officially confirm that she is not in default. She also seeks a permanent injunction to stop the auction and wants damages for breach of contract. At the same time, she intends to continue living in the apartment while continuing with her loan repayment plan.
She maintains that the auction move is unfair and amounts to attempted forceful dispossession despite her fulfilling her obligations.
