Trump suggests he might contemplate deporting Elon Musk.
The President of the United States indicated that Musk is “very upset” about the loss of his electric vehicle mandate and implied that Musk “could face even greater losses.”
On Tuesday, President Donald Trump mentioned that he would consider the possibility of deporting billionaire Elon Musk amid their ongoing conflict regarding a Republican-backed spending bill. When reporters inquired about the potential deportation, Trump responded, “I don’t know. We’ll have to take a look.”
These remarks followed Musk’s criticism of an extensive tax-cut and spending plan, during which he expressed his intention to form a new political party if Congress passes the legislation.
Trump suggested that the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) should examine the subsidies received by Musk’s companies. He stated, “We might need to put DOGE on Elon. Do you know what DOGE is? DOGE is the entity that may have to go back and confront Elon.”
According to Trump, Musk is “very upset” over losing his electric vehicle mandate, claiming that he “could lose much more than just that.”
– ‘DOGE will evaluate Musk’
The relationship between Trump and Musk, once marked by collaboration and mutual support, has notably soured into an openly adversarial dynamic since Musk began opposing the spending bill in late May.
Last month, Musk proposed forming a new political party, asking his followers on X whether it was “time to create a new political party in America that genuinely represents the 80% in the middle.” He also backed a supporter’s suggestion to name this prospective party the “America Party,” similar to the America PAC (Political Action Committee) he founded last year, which contributed $239 million in support of Trump and other Republican candidates for the 2024 elections.
While addressing reporters shortly after arriving in Florida, Trump remarked, “DOGE is going to review Musk.” He added, “If DOGE investigates Musk, we’re going to save a lot of money… I don’t think he should be engaging in this situation with me.”
