Massive Blaze Destroys Tomorrowland Main Stage in Belgium Before Festival

On Wednesday, July 16, a significant fire completely engulfed the main stage of Tomorrowland, just two days before the highly anticipated music festival was scheduled to commence in Belgium, as reported by HLN and VRT NWS.

The primary stage of the electronic music festival Tomorrowland, set to take place on July 18 in Boom, Belgium, has been rendered unusable due to the fire. The origin of the incident remains undetermined.

Reports from HLN suggest that the blaze could have resulted from an accident during a fireworks rehearsal. However, this information has not yet been validated by either festival organizers or emergency personnel.

VRT NWS indicated that approximately 1,000 staff members were present at the festival location and were subsequently evacuated for safety reasons.

Originally slated to start on Friday, July 18, Tomorrowland expected more than 100,000 attendees. However, with the destruction of its main stage, the future of the event is now uncertain.

Since its inception in 2005 in Boom, Antwerp Province, Belgium, Tomorrowland has evolved into one of the largest and most prestigious music festivals globally over the past twenty years.

In March of this year, a similar tragedy occurred during a concert in North Macedonia where at least 50 individuals lost their lives due to a fire that broke out in a nightclub.
