Iranian missile hits Ramat Gan near Tel Aviv, causing heavy damage.
Thursday morning turned terrifying for residents of Ramat Gan, just outside Tel Aviv, when an Iranian ballistic missile struck the area around 7 a.m. local time. The powerful impact smashed windows, peeled facades off buildings, and left streets filled with shattered glass and debris.
Several vehicles were crushed under falling rubble. Emergency teams moved fast, blocking roads and beginning search operations. According to responder Golan Landsberg, the area was one of the hardest hit.
“Those in safe rooms survived. The rooms did their job,” he said.
In Be’er Sheva, the Soroka Medical Centre—one of Israel’s major hospitals—was badly damaged in what officials described as a direct missile hit. The facility, vital for emergency treatment, especially near the Gaza border, was thrown into chaos.
Magen David Adom (MDA) reported that at least 65 people were injured in the attacks. Among them were three critical cases, including elderly civilians. Some were also injured while rushing to seek shelter.
Iran’s IRNA state news agency later claimed that the strike near Soroka was unintentional. The real target, they said, was the nearby Gav-Yam Negev tech park, a military-linked complex believed to house the IDF’s advanced intelligence unit (C4i).
The park is located near Ben-Gurion University and is known as a hub of defence and high-tech development. Despite Iran’s claim, images from the ground showed the hospital in flames and buildings destroyed.
Israeli Defence Minister Israel Katz was quick to respond, saying Prime Minister Netanyahu had already ordered strong counterstrikes. Katz accused Iran’s leadership of war crimes, specifically Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei.
“The Iranian dictator sits in a bunker while launching missiles at hospitals and homes. He will be held accountable,” Katz said.
President Isaac Herzog also issued a strong statement, painting a vivid picture of the civilian pain caused:
“A baby in intensive care. A mother by their side. A doctor between hospital beds. These were Iran’s targets today,” he said, adding that such attacks showed the brutality behind the missiles.
Tensions Mount, Retaliation Expected
This latest barrage marks a new level of conflict between Iran and Israel. With missiles flying and casualties increasing, the region faces a serious threat of further escalation.
Israel has made it clear that it will not let the attacks go unanswered. And with both sides holding firm, the world now watches closely, as a local strike risks triggering a much larger storm.
