Trump says the U.S. is not pushing for a short-term truce in the Iran-Israel war.
U.S. President Donald Trump has made it clear that America is not just calling for a simple break in the fighting between Iran and Israel. Speaking aboard Air Force One, Trump told reporters that a mere pause in the war is not enough. According to him, the U.S. is seeking something more lasting and final.
When asked what the U.S. truly hopes to achieve, Trump replied that the aim is not a ceasefire but a complete stop to all violence. He stressed that his administration is not interested in temporary peace, but rather a full solution that ends the war completely.
“We’re not looking for a ceasefire,” Trump said. “We’re looking at better than a ceasefire… a real end.”
The President’s strong words come during the fourth week of intense military attacks between Iran and Israel. The situation has sparked major concern around the world, with countries and organisations calling for calm. Despite pressure from the UN and EU for an immediate truce, Trump’s comments suggest the U.S. prefers a more favourable outcome.
Although Trump did not give full details, his tone suggested that the White House wants an outcome that may involve weakening Iran’s military power. While international voices urge for peace talks, Trump’s approach seems more focused on finishing the war once and for all.
The U.S. has not announced any official peace agreement or mediation plan so far. However, Trump’s language shows firm support for Israel and a warning to Iran. Whether this will include more U.S. involvement remains unclear.
