A Tanzanian man, Selemen Hussein, has shared his heartbreaking story after being abandoned by his longtime partner, Aisha, despite having supported her through her education and financial struggles.
Hussein revealed that he sold his belongings, including cars, property, and businesses, to ensure Aisha completed her studies abroad. However, after finishing school, she ended the relationship and moved on with another man.
“Out of love and compassion, I sacrificed everything to help her overcome her financial problems. I gave her my all, but she betrayed me,” he said in an interview with Afrimax English.
The betrayal left Hussein in deep financial distress, forcing him to rely on collecting and selling plastic bottles for survival. He said his family also distanced themselves from him after his financial collapse.
“My parents had warned me about mixing money and love, but I didn’t listen. Now I’m left alone, trying to rebuild my life one step at a time,” he shared with visible pain.
Despite the hardship, Hussein remains hopeful that his story will serve as a lesson to others about trust, sacrifice, and resilience in relationships.
