  • Mwangi Kiunjuri has gone silent in recent high-profile events
  • Reports link his absence to a fallout with President Ruto
  • Tension allegedly began after he openly criticised unfulfilled promises
  •  His future political direction is now a subject of speculation

Questions are growing over the political whereabouts of Mwangi Kiunjuri, with fresh reports suggesting a possible fallout between him and President William Ruto.

According to a political analysis aired by Inooro TV, Kiunjuri’s troubles with the presidency may have started on October 24, 2025.

The station reported that despite expectations he would play a visible role during the ongoing three-day My Kenya event, the Service Party of Kenya leader has been noticeably absent, raising eyebrows within political circles.

The reported fallout traces back to a burial ceremony held in Laikipia for the father of Inspector General of Police Douglas Kanja.

During the event, Kiunjuri is said to have taken a rare and bold stance by publicly confronting the Head of State over what he described as failure to honour campaign promises.

Kiunjuri warned that President Ruto’s biggest challenge was credibility.

He noted that many Kenyans were increasingly questioning whether the promises made during campaigns and public rallies would ever be fulfilled.

His comments, delivered partly in Kiswahili, painted a picture of growing frustration among citizens who feel repeatedly assured but rarely see results.

Political analysts believe those remarks may have marked a turning point. Since then, Kiunjuri’s reduced visibility at key national and regional events has fueled speculation that relations between him and the Kenya Kwanza leadership may have cooled significantly.

While neither Kiunjuri nor State House has publicly addressed the claims, his silence has only intensified debate about his next political move.

Supporters are now watching closely to see whether he will realign, go quiet strategically, or re-emerge with a stronger oppositional stance as the 2027 General Election slowly comes into focus.

For now, the big question remains unanswered: where exactly does Mwangi Kiunjuri stand in Kenya’s fast-shifting political landscape?
