Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua showered praise on his wife, Pastor Dorcas Rigathi, during her ordination ceremony held on Saturday, November 15, 2025, at Wamunyoro Farm in Nyeri County. Gachagua described Dorcas as the “glue” that holds their family together, expressing deep admiration for her dedication to her faith and her service to others.
“Pastor Dorcas is a blessing to my family; she is the glue that holds our family together; she is the matriarch in our small family, and all our lives revolve around her,” Gachagua said during the ceremony, emphasising her importance in their family.
Reflecting on their early years together, Gachagua expressed how he had witnessed Dorcas’s unwavering commitment to the word of God from the moment they met. “I stand with profound joy to honour my wife on this sacred occasion of her ordination. From the earliest days, I have witnessed her unwavering dedication to the word of God,” he added.
He also spoke about how Pastor Dorcas’s sermons and discipleship have shaped their family and inner circle, noting that her influence extended beyond the pulpit. “Not only in her sermons but also through the life she has led as a committed disciple, teacher, and shepherd within our family and inner community,” he said.
Gachagua went on to express how proud he was to have married Pastor Dorcas, highlighting how his family was privileged to be among the first to experience her ministry. He noted how her humility, care, and passion for serving others were evident throughout their time together.
“Our household was privileged to be among the first to receive her ministry, and I have witnessed firsthand the care, humility, and passion with which she has carried out her calling to serve others,” Gachagua said.
In his speech, Gachagua also acknowledged his wife’s outreach to marginalised groups, including widows, orphans, people living with disabilities, and the boy child. He commended Pastor Dorcas for her work in giving hope and compassion to those often overlooked by society.
As Dorcas was officially ordained during the ceremony, Gachagua expressed immense pride in her achievements, both as a wife and as a servant of Christ. “Today, as she is ordained before this congregation into the ministry, I am proud not only as a husband but also as a witness to her integrity, compassion, and her faithful service as she embodies the qualities befitting a servant of Christ,” he said.
