Over 200 golfers to compete at Vetlab Sports Club on Saturday. The 25th leg of the KCB East Africa Golf Tour will determine the next finalist team.

More than 200 golfers from across the country are expected to gather at the Vetlab Sports Club this Saturday for the 25th leg of the KCB East Africa Golf Tour.

The top-performing team will earn a slot in the tour’s grand finale, joining 35 teams that have already qualified for the December 5 showdown.

Vetlab Sports Club Captain Eric Karuga expressed excitement ahead of the tournament, saying the course is in prime condition for the event.

“We are eager to take on the course this weekend for the KCB Golf Tournament. Our course is in its absolute best condition, and our green master has worked extremely hard to ensure we are ready to host an event of this magnitude,” said Karuga.

“As a club, we are grateful to be part of this regional event that continues to foster a golfing culture in Kenya and beyond.”

The KCB East Africa Golf Tour is nearing its climax, with the grand finale scheduled for December 5, 2025.

At the Limuru Country Club, the most recent leg saw two teams comprising Kim Kimura, Francis Kimani, Joseph Ikanyi, Paul Kahura, Hakeem Mutungi, Njoroge Munyua, Jim Gathuna, and Joseph Kung’u secure their places in the finals.

KCB Group Director for Marketing and Communications Rosalind Gichuru said the growing competitiveness reflects the tournament’s impact on amateur golf.

“We are approaching the grand finale. The competition is getting tougher as everyone aims to be part of the December event,” she said.

“Our focus is to keep elevating this game to an elite level, democratise it, and foster regional unity in line with our brand purpose, For People. For Better.

The KCB East Africa Golf Tour has expanded its footprint across the region, with successful legs in Burundi, Uganda, Tanzania, and Rwanda, showcasing the bank’s commitment to golf development.

Beyond competition, the series has positively impacted over 2,000 junior golfers through concurrent golf clinics aimed at nurturing young talent.

In addition, KCB has hosted caddie tournaments in Nakuru and Nyeri Counties and plans another at Vetlab on October 27, followed by Migaa Golf Course next month.

The initiative seeks to ensure inclusive participation, bringing together all stakeholders in the sport as part of the 2025 tour edition.
