Patelo addresses online backlash about his wife being older.

Kenyan musician Patelo has finally addressed the noisy online chatter surrounding his relationship. Critics recently took aim at the age difference between him and his wife, but the content creator wasn’t having any of it.

Through a fiery video response, Patelo shut down the trolling with the words:

“Mama ni wangu, mali ni yangu, hutanipanga mtu wa kukaa na yeye.”

The phrase, loosely translated, means “She’s my woman, the wealth is mine, and you won’t control who I choose to live with.” His unapologetic tone quickly went viral, dividing social media into two camps—those who cheered him on and those still throwing shade.

Patelo made it clear that he doesn’t owe anyone explanations about his personal life. The comedian stressed that relationships should be about happiness, not conformity to what people expect or say online.

He called out the culture of judgment around age-gap relationships, saying love isn’t measured by numbers but by mutual respect and connection.

As expected, his remarks triggered mixed reactions across platforms. Supporters hailed his boldness and praised him for standing by his wife. Some even called him a “real man” for ignoring societal pressure.

But not everyone was kind. Detractors continued to poke fun and question the sincerity of the relationship. Despite this, Patelo seems unfazed—focused only on his own lane.

Patelo’s clapback serves as a reminder that personal relationships are exactly that—personal. Whether people approve or not, love doesn’t need an audience to thrive. And for Patelo, public opinion is simply background noise.
