South African star Boohle to perform live in Nairobi on August 2
South African Amapiano sensation Boohle is headed to Nairobi for an electrifying concert at Red Room – The Arena, Adlife Plaza in Kilimani on Friday, August 2. The 25-year-old vocalist, born Buhlebevangeli Hlengiwe Manyathi, is renowned for her powerful yet velvety voice that has brought emotional depth to some of the genre’s biggest hits.
She has lent her vocals to fan-favourite tracks like “Hamba Wena” by Deep London, “Siyathandana” by Cassper Nyovest, and “Ngixolele” by Busta 929, gaining her a massive following across Africa.
Excitement is building as Nairobi’s vibrant Amapiano fanbase prepares for Boohle’s performance. With early bird tickets almost sold out, Red Room is expected to be packed with revellers eager to dance the night away to soulful Afro-house beats.
Red Room, known for its intimate yet electric ambience, has hosted various continental talents and is fast becoming a hub for live Afrobeat and Amapiano performances in Kenya.
In a recent interview, Boohle revealed that this isn’t just another show for her, it’s a journey of emotional connection and self-expression.
“Every stage I step on is not just a gig. It’s a moment to connect, to share parts of myself, and to thank those who support me from far and wide,” Boohle said.
She added that her Nairobi stop will also reflect her growth, both as a woman and an artist, a journey many fans have seen unfold in her recent reality show appearances in South Africa.
The shows have offered rare insight into her life, revealing her close ties with family and her long-time manager, who’ve played pivotal roles in shaping her career.
Boohle’s rising star is part of a broader movement of female artists reshaping the Amapiano landscape, a genre historically dominated by male DJs and producers. Her success signals a changing tide, where women are now taking centre stage with both talent and presence.
As the countdown begins, all eyes turn to Nairobi for what promises to be a memorable night with Boohle at the helm of the city’s Amapiano wave.
