Manchester United have submitted a third offer worth up to £70 million for Bryan Mbeumo.
Manchester United have made another push to sign Bryan Mbeumo from Brentford. This time, they’ve put forward a deal valued at £70 million—£65 million up front and an extra £5 million based on performance bonuses.
Their earlier offers, one starting at £45 million plus £10 million in add-ons, and a second higher bid, both fell short of what Brentford expected. But United are now hoping this third move finally gets the green light.
Brentford have been clear with their valuation of the Cameroonian forward. They reportedly wanted a figure greater than the £62.5 million Manchester United paid Wolves for Matheus Cunha. Their justification? Mbeumo scored more goals in the Premier League last season than Cunha.
The Bees also know the market well and are not rushing to sell one of their most reliable attackers unless the numbers are right.
Despite attention from other clubs like Newcastle and Tottenham, Bryan Mbeumo has leaned towards a switch to Old Trafford. The 26-year-old is said to be keen on the opportunity to play under Ruben Amorim and be part of a new-look United frontline.
His 20 goals in the last league season have made him one of the most sought-after forwards in England.
Ruben Amorim is focused on shaking things up in Manchester United’s attack. The club managed only 44 Premier League goals last season, and Mbeumo is viewed as the right fit to boost their frontline.
Meanwhile, several of United’s current forwards—Marcus Rashford, Jadon Sancho, Antony, and Alejandro Garnacho—are reportedly open to leaving. However, none of them has completed a move, and they’re not training with the main squad during pre-season.
Manchester United’s pursuit of Mbeumo shows just how serious they are about fixing their attacking problems. Now, it’s up to Brentford to make the final call.
