Makueni Senator Dan Maanzo has opposed the impeachment of Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua and termed it a big joke. According to the vocal Senator, it is unjust to accuse Gachagua of being a tribalist, yet nobody in Kenya is not guilty of tribalism.
Maanzo went on to allege that the Members of Parliament wanted to impeach Gachagua after he refused to give them money from the confidential budget. He further asked Kenyans to sweep out the MPs in the next elections, claiming that Gachagua’s impeachment was purely political and had nothing to do with his conduct.
”Kenyans should deal with all the MPs in the next general election,’’ he added. According to Maanzo, MPs were just wasting their representation duty by dwelling on the impeachment motion, while neglecting those who elected them.
On Gachagua’s wealth, Maanzo defended him and said he knew how he accumulated his wealth from the time he was a Member of Parliament. Maanzo said if the MPs have a problem with Gachagua’s wealth, he should be given a wealth declaration, fill it up, and explain how he got it.
Kimani Mwangi recently shared his thoughts about Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua and how people in the Kikuyu community feel about him. He said that many Kikuyus might feel strongly that Gachagua is being treated unfairly or persecuted. However, Mwangi asked the community to look at Gachagua’s actions more carefully.
Mwangi pointed out that some people believe Gachagua has been undermining President William Ruto. This means that Gachagua’s actions might not support the President and could create problems. Mwangi stressed that it is important for leaders to be loyal to each other.
When the Deputy President does not support the President, it can cause division and make it harder for the government to do its job.
Supporting the President
He emphasized that unity and teamwork are very important in government. When leaders work together, they can better tackle the problems the country faces. Mwangi suggested that the Kikuyu community should stand behind leaders who promote togetherness instead of those who create division. By supporting the President, they can help make the government stronger and more effective.
Mwangi’s comments show that some political leaders are worried about the stability of the current government. He believes it is essential for the Kikuyu community to focus on supporting unity and working together for a common goal. This way, they can help the government stay focused on its plans to improve the country.
Mwangi understands the feelings of his community, he thinks it is important to think about the situation more clearly. He called for open conversations and reflection among Kikuyus, encouraging them to look closely at what their leaders are doing.
Mwangi’s message highlights the need for strong leadership and teamwork in politics, especially during challenging times. By coming together, he believes the Kikuyu community can help shape a better future for Kenya.
This is obvious in the recent statements made by Mt Kenya lawmaker Honorable Rodgers Kipembe, who declared that as members of Gen Z, they are the ones who planned and coordinated the rallies against President William Samoei Ruto’s government.
This declaration follows claims that these protests were funded by Honorable Rigathi Gachagua, the Deputy President.
Considering their distinct viewpoint and concerns, it is not surprising that Gen Z is involved in political activity.
They are more likely to be impacted by concerns like social justice, economic injustice, and climate change because they are the younger generation.
Their readiness to express their views and call for reform is evidence of their commitment to building a better future.
But Honorable Kipembe’s assertions and the Deputy President’s accusations cast doubt on the influence of political figures on young people’s behaviour.
