Citizen TV journalist Jamila Mohamed has opened up about her long battle with illness, revealing that she has been unwell for four years and admitted to hospital eight times during this period.
Known for maintaining a private personal life, Mohamed only shares glimpses about her family and personal milestones when necessary.
The veteran journalist reflected on the toll her health challenges have taken, as well as the support she has received from medical staff, colleagues, friends, and family.
“For the past four years, I have been battling a condition for which I have been admitted eight times for surgeries. I knew the names of all the theatre nurses. The last procedure (hopefully) has been done,” she wrote.
She expressed gratitude to the doctors and nurses who have cared for her throughout, saying, “I am grateful to the doctors and nurses who have stood by me all through.
I promise the next time I pass by the hospital will be for greetings only.” Mohamed also thanked her bosses and colleagues, describing them as amazing, and praised her supportive family and kind friends for helping her through the difficult period.
The journalist, who had previously shared that she gave birth in her early 20s, acknowledged the impact of her personal life on her career, balancing motherhood and work with resilience.
Despite the challenges, Mohamed’s post radiates positivity, reflecting her faith and hope for full recovery. She concluded her message with heartfelt thanks: “Alhamdullilah for everything.
