TECNO has introduced new AI features to enhance the AFCON experience. The tools are powered by the upgraded ELLA AI assistant

As the Africa Cup of Nations takes centre stage in Morocco, smartphone brand TECNO has rolled out new artificial intelligence tools aimed at improving how Kenyan fans follow the tournament.

TECNO, the official global partner of AFCON 2025 and 2027 as well as the Confederation of African Football (CAF), says the update is meant to make football content easier to understand, more interactive, and more shareable.

At the heart of the new experience is ELLA AI Coach, a special version of TECNO’s AI assistant designed specifically for AFCON.

The assistant blends football analysis, social features, and daily support, allowing users to access match information directly on their smartphones without extra apps.

According to TECNO, the goal is to fit football updates naturally into everyday life, whether fans are at home, on the road, or watching matches with friends.

ELLA AI Coach comes with several tools created to help fans follow AFCON more closely.

One of them is Match Decoder, which studies team form, past results, and playing styles to offer simple match previews and talking points. This helps fans add facts to football debates at work, in matatus, or during watch parties.

Another feature, Snap-and-Know, allows users to take a photo of a fixture poster, TV screen, or shared image. The AI then instantly provides correct match details such as kick-off time, date, and venue.

For fans who cannot watch every game live, Daily Highlights delivers short summaries of key moments and results.

This feature allows users to stay updated during breaks, while commuting, or between daily tasks without missing major AFCON action.

TECNO has also added a social feature called StarCam, which lets users place themselves next to celebrities or public figures as if they are watching matches together.

The tool is designed for sharing on social media and reflects Kenya’s lively online football culture.

Beyond AFCON, TECNO says ELLA AI continues to work as an everyday assistant.

Users can rely on it for tasks such as answering questions, helping with schoolwork, planning activities, and finding useful content, all from one device.

The company says its strong presence at AFCON shows its commitment to Kenya and the wider African market.

During the tournament’s opening events, TECNO hosted media figures, influencers, tech experts, and business leaders from across the continent.

Through initiatives like TECNO Glory Night, the brand continues to support African creators while promoting AI-powered smartphones built around local needs and lifestyles.
