Esther Akoth Kokeyo who is popularly known as Akothee, has offered empowering advice to single mothers who are primarily focused on relationships. She emphasized that they possess all the capabilities needed to succeed economically.

On her Facebook page, the musician and businesswoman shared a photo of a house she is currently building. She revealed that the nearly completed house has cost her 1.5 million shillings so far.

Akothee encouraged single mothers to stop investing their time and resources in relationships and instead prioritize investing in themselves. She warned against relying on marriage as a means to secure a home.

She advised that single mothers should first build a house of their own so that if a marriage does not last, they will have a roof over their heads to return to. According to her, marriages are unpredictable and women should not depend on them too heavily.

Akothee explained that when a woman owns her own home, no man can mistreat her or take advantage of her because she always has a place to go back to. She pointed out that many women suffer in broken marriages because they have nowhere else to turn.
