Police in Kisumu have recovered a Jericho pistol that was stolen from a General Service Unit (GSU) officer attached to Kakamega Governor Fernandes Barasa during the burial of former Prime Minister Raila Odinga in Bondo.

The firearm was found in Mbeme area, Kisumu East, following an intelligence-led operation that also led to the arrest of four young men suspected to be behind the theft.

According to police reports, officers raided a hideout in the area and recovered the pistol, which had gone missing during the chaotic funeral that turned violent.

The event was marred by disorder, with several mourners injured and others robbed of their valuables.
