South African DJ Dies In Crash Just Two Weeks After Getting Married
The Eastern Cape entertainment community has been left reeling following the tragic death of popular DJ and events promoter Volo Da Saint, born Nkokheli Twabu, who died in a car accident near King Shaka International Airport in Durban on Sunday, 16 November 2025—just two weeks after his traditional marriage.
The 34-year-old’s family confirmed his passing in a heartfelt statement, expressing deep sorrow and requesting privacy as they navigate the sudden loss of their loved one.
They described Volo Da Saint as a devoted son, a rising industry name, and a passionate supporter of social justice causes, including the fight against gender-based violence.
His final posts on Facebook echoed those values, showing support for Women for Change’s campaign against GBV.
Family Statement and Funeral Plans
The Twabu family said funeral and memorial service details will be announced soon. They appealed to friends, supporters, and the public for understanding as they mourn a man they described as “humble, talented, and fiercely dedicated to uplifting those around him.”
According to a report issued by the Suburban Control Centre, emergency teams responded to a serious crash on the N2 near King Shaka International Airport.
IPSS Search and Rescue Tongaat Volunteers and other emergency services arrived to find a single vehicle that had rolled multiple times, coming to rest in the southbound lane.
Two occupants suffered moderate to serious injuries and were stabilised before being transported to hospital under Advanced Life Support supervision.
Volo Da Saint, however, sustained fatal injuries and was declared dead at the scene.
Authorities say the cause of the crash remains under investigation by the South African Police Service (SAPS).
Volo Da Saint’s New Marriage Cut Short
Adding to the heartbreak, Volo Da Saint had only recently celebrated a major milestone in his personal life.
On 4 November 2025, he announced his traditional marriage to his partner, Madlamini, in King Williams Town (Qonce). His pastor, Bheki Hopewell Gama, revealed that the couple had been preparing for a white wedding.
His final Instagram post captured his joy as he shared images from the ceremony — a moment that has now become a painful final memory for his followers.
