Tanzanian gospel singer Rose Muhando has refuted claims that she is married to Kenyan preacher Robert Lumbasi, pushing back against public narratives following recent attention on their alleged union.
The controversy began after Lumbasi, a preacher and senior police officer, publicly stated that he and Rose had married, including paying her dowry in Tanzania in 2023 a move that surprised many fans across East Africa.
Lumbasi’s announcement followed months after Rose had spoken openly about her single status, emphasising that she has never married and has focused on raising her three children alone.
She has previously shared that she is waiting for a partner who embodies both genuine love and biblical values.
During a recent interview, when congratulated on the purported marriage, Rose firmly denied it, insisting, “Hapana, hapana, there is no such thing,” and stressing her identity as a child and minister of God.
Her clear refusal to affirm the relationship left many followers puzzled by the conflicting accounts.
The alleged union gained traction after Lumbasi introduced Rose at a church service with affectionate words like “the mother of my children” and “the anointed one,” moments that were shared widely online and sparked discussion about their relationship.
