The media community is in shock following the sudden passing of KTN correspondent Japeth Makau, who died on January 7, 2025, at a Machakos hospital.
His family has confirmed the burial date will be announced later.
Makau’s death has sparked an outpouring of tributes on social media, with many acknowledging his talent and dedication to journalism.
John Kamau who reacted to his death on Facebook said :”May He Rest in peace. This year has not began well. He wa very talented and gifted”.
Makau’s contributions to the field will be remembered, and his colleagues are mourning the loss of a respected journalist.
Fellow journalists described him as a disciplined and Flexible journalist adding that his death was not only a loss to the family but also to the community which he served.
The cause of death has not been disclosed, but his passing has left a void in the media fraternity.
