R250,000 reward offered following Mamelodi double murder of two young women
The Aubrey Tau Foundation has announced a R250,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of those responsible for the tragic murders of cousins Tshiamo Moramaga (22) and Baleseng Moramaga (21).
The young women were found shot dead in the early hours of Sunday, 26 October 2025, in Sompisi Street, Extension 17, Mamelodi East, Tshwane.
Community members discovered their bodies around 6h15 a.m., prompting a double murder investigation by the South African Police Service (SAPS) Mamelodi East. According to family members, neighbours reported hearing arguments and gunshots shortly before the bodies were found. Itumeleng Moramaga, mother of Tshiamo, expressed her devastation, stating that one of the victims’ cellphones was stolen, while the other’s remained in her pocket.
She described her daughter and niece as inseparable, having attended crèche and school together. Baleseng was a student studying teaching, and Tshiamo was pursuing a career in beauty therapy.
Both were described as hardworking and full of promise.
The Aubrey Tau Foundation, known for its commitment to justice and community support, is urging anyone with information to come forward.
The reward aims to encourage witnesses to assist authorities in bringing those responsible to justice. The motive behind the killings remains unclear, and the investigation is ongoing.
The family has expressed their heartbreak and is calling for justice for the two young women whose lives were tragically cut short.
They hope that the reward will lead to crucial information that will help solve the case and provide closure.
