Qhawekazi Mazaleni Crowned Miss South Africa 2025 In Glittering Finale
South Africa has a brand-new queen, dolls! After weeks of glitz, gowns, and drama, Qhawekazi Mazaleni, a 24-year-old speech therapist from the Eastern Cape, has officially been crowned Miss South Africa 2025 — and baby, she did not come to play!
The big reveal happened on Saturday, 25 October 2025, at the SunBet Arena in Pretoria, where Mzansi’s crème de la crème gathered to witness who’d walk away with the crown, the car, and the cash.
Mzansi’s New Darling Qhawekazi!
When her name was called, Qhawekazi couldn’t hold back the tears — and neither could the crowd. The new queen walked away with a jaw-dropping prize package worth over R3 million, including:
- A R1 million cash prize
- A Mercedes-Benz GLC Coupé
- A three-bedroom penthouse apartment for her reign
She succeeds Miss SA 2024 Mia le Roux, whose reign was extended for two months as the pageant restructured for a “new era.” And honey, this era is already sparkling.
Coming in hot behind the queen was Luyanda Zuma, 23, from Pietermaritzburg — crowned first princess — and Karabo Mareka, 27, from Alexandra, as second princess.
The show was hosted by TV darling Nomalanga Shozi and media personality Pamela Mtanga, while the red carpet was in the capable hands of Miss SA 2023 Natasha Vermaak and the ever-charming Dr Fezile Mkhize, a former Mister Supranational.
And baby, the entertainment? Performances by Makhadzi, Ciza, Lordkez, and Langa Mavuso had the crowd up and vibing, while Demi Lee Moore, Bucie, Karen Zoid, and Xolly Mncwango joined forces with a school choir for a powerful all-women performance that had everyone in their feels.
