Qatar Charity unveils development programs in 10 counties
Qatar Charity has launched a wide range of support programs in ten counties across Kenya, focusing on long-term growth and urgent humanitarian needs. The move is meant to assist vulnerable groups through meaningful, people-led projects that improve lives at the grassroots level.
The organization’s Country Director in Kenya, Adel Daboubi, highlighted the group’s broader goal of building sustainable communities. He pointed out that their work goes beyond emergency aid and instead aims to provide tools and opportunities for people to stand on their own.
“We’re committed to helping communities not just survive but thrive,” said Daboubi during the launch.
Boosting Development Through Local Solutions
The initiatives cover several key areas, such as distributing food and health kits in drought-affected regions, setting up multi-use community centers, and launching micro-finance projects to support small business owners. These efforts are geared toward boosting independence and building stronger, self-sufficient communities.
Speaking at the event, Charlene Ruto applauded the effort, saying the program supports Kenya’s goals for development. She described it as a great example of how global partners can help lift local communities when the focus is on long-term change and not just handouts.
Qatar Charity, which is active in more than 70 countries, remains committed to inclusive development and continues to make a difference through projects that promote dignity, opportunity, and hope.
