Nominated MCA Shirleen Wambui and politician Samuel Ireri exchange blows at Embassy Lounge
A heated political altercation disrupted Samidoh’s homecoming performance at Embassy Lounge on Thika Road, leaving fans stunned as drama unfolded in front of the crowd.
The clash involved nominated MCA Shirleen Wambui — known for her close ties with Charlene Ruto — and young Embu County politician Samuel Ireri. The two reportedly got into a fierce argument over political matters that turned physical during the performance.
The situation worsened when Shaban Gichuhi, a Roysambu parliamentary aspirant and ally of former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, allegedly stepped in to support Wambui in confronting Ireri.
Revellers say the scuffle interrupted Samidoh’s live performance for several minutes, with stunned fans watching the drama unfold.
“The whole club was in shock. One moment, Samidoh was performing, the next there was a full-blown brawl on the floor,” a witness told sauce.co.ke.
Security and patrons eventually broke up the fight, restoring order at the venue.
Insiders attribute the growing political divisions within the Mount Kenya region to its root cause.
Wambui’s link to Charlene Ruto and Gichuhi’s alignment with Rigathi Gachagua reflect an emerging power struggle within the Kenya Kwanza coalition, especially in the wake of 2027 succession discussions.
Samidoh, the celebrated Mugithi singer and police officer, was set to make a grand return to Thika Road. Known for hits like Riari Itheru, and often in the spotlight over his personal life and ties to high-ranking politicians, his shows regularly draw national attention.
However, what was meant to be a musical celebration turned into a political spectacle — and not for the right reasons.
The dramatic interruption left many attendees calling for better security at public events involving political figures. The growing trend of political clashes spilling into entertainment spaces has sparked concern among both fans and performers.
