Fresh information continues to emerge following the unexpected death of veteran broadcaster and KBC Mayienga FM head, Festus Amimo, who collapsed inside a Nairobi hotel room on Monday.
A police Occurrence Book (OB) entry seen by reporters indicates that Amimo was not alone at the time of the incident. He was reportedly in the company of a woman identified as Collata Ann Ngesa, who is said to be a junior employee at KBC.
According to the police report, the woman raised the alarm after Amimo suddenly collapsed during their private moments inside the room. She quickly alerted hotel staff, who then called in security personnel to check on what had happened.

Upon entering the room, officers found the seasoned journalist lying unresponsive. Medical personnel were contacted immediately, but paramedics sadly confirmed that Amimo had already passed away.
Police later processed the scene before his body was moved to the city mortuary for preservation and further examination.
Preliminary accounts from investigators suggest that Amimo may have suffered complications possibly linked to an alleged overdose of what officers described as “blue pills.” However, detectives emphasized that a post-mortem and comprehensive investigations are still underway to establish the exact cause of death.
The woman who was with him has already recorded her statement as part of the routine inquiry, as detectives piece together the final moments leading to the tragedy.
Amimo’s death has shocked colleagues, listeners, and the wider media fraternity, many of whom described him as a calm, dedicated, and highly respected professional whose contribution to the industry will be dearly missed.
