Controversial city preacher and TikTok personality Pastor Kanyari has once again stirred debate after openly admitting how his famous “310 prayers” turned him into a millionaire almost overnight.
Kanyari claimed that at the height of his popularity, he was making as much as KSh1 million daily from the prayer line.
The setup was simple: anyone seeking special prayers for problems ranging from illness to financial struggles was asked to send KSh310. Thousands did.
Kanyari, who was exposed in 2014 over claims of exploiting believers through staged miracles and paid prayers, says the system worked for nearly four years.
According to him, people sent the money willingly because they believed in the prayers and the promises attached to them.
The preacher insists he never forced anyone to pay, arguing that what he did was “smart” and legal, not theft.
He maintains that Kenyans believed in his ministry and supported it voluntarily, making the venture highly profitable.
His confession has reignited mixed reactions online. While some see it as rare honesty from a man long accused of manipulation, others say it confirms what critics have always argued about monetised faith and desperation.
The remarks come at a time when Kanyari has reinvented himself on social media, regularly trending on TikTok and Instagram with bold statements about religion, money, and his past.
