Passaris Urges Pastor Ng’ang’a to Surrender Over Disturbing Viral Video

Nairobi Woman Rep Esther Passaris asks Pastor Ng’ang’a to report to the authorities.

Nairobi Woman Representative Esther Passaris has urged controversial preacher Pastor James Ng’ang’a to surrender to the police following a viral video that has sparked outrage across the country.

The clip, which has been widely circulated online, appears to show the pastor admitting to taking part in a gang rape incident with eight other men. Though its authenticity remains unverified, it has stirred national anger and renewed calls for accountability.

Speaking on October 7, 2025, Passaris said Ng’ang’a should fully cooperate with investigators and disclose the identities of all persons mentioned in the alleged confession.

“If the video is real, he should go to the police and help ensure justice for the survivor,” Passaris stated.

Her remarks have been widely praised by gender rights activists, who lauded her courage in addressing a matter many consider sensitive.

The shocking video has triggered heated discussions on social media, with many Kenyans demanding swift action from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI). Others, however, have called for patience and adherence to due process until the video’s authenticity is confirmed.

Passaris stressed that no one, whether a religious leader or political figure, should be exempt from the law, particularly in cases of sexual violence.

The incident has reignited debate about gender-based violence and impunity in Kenya, pushing civil society groups to urge the DCI to conduct a thorough investigation.

As the probe continues, the case is being viewed as a test of Kenya’s resolve to uphold justice and protect survivors. Regardless of how the video turns out, public sentiment reflects growing intolerance toward abuse of power and sexual misconduct, especially by influential figures.
