Police in Meru have arrested a Catholic Sister suspected of killing her colleague. The victim, identified as Sister Kirimi, was found dead in her room, lying in a pool of blood.
The Catholic community in Meru is in disbelief after one of their own was arrested for allegedly killing her fellow sister. According to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI), the lifeless body of Sister Kirimi was discovered in her room, surrounded by blood, sending waves of grief across the faithful.
Sources close to the investigation revealed that the suspect had recently been replaced by Sister Kirimi as the administrator of a local children’s home located just outside Meru town. Detectives are exploring the possibility that resentment over the change in leadership may have led to the shocking act.
Investigators suspect that the 65-year-old nun was attacked and killed in a different location before her body was dragged into her bedroom. Forensic officers are gathering evidence from the scene to determine exactly how the incident unfolded.
Police have since detained the suspect as investigations progress. Meanwhile, the body of Sister Kirimi has been moved to the mortuary, awaiting post-mortem and burial arrangements. Detectives have promised a thorough investigation to uncover the truth behind the horrifying murder.
This disturbing event has sparked conversations about moral decay even within religious institutions. Nuns and priests are often viewed as symbols of peace and humility, yet recent cases of violence, including the Shakahola massacre led by Pastor Paul Makenzi, have raised concern about growing conflicts in religious circles.
The Catholic community, friends, and family of the late Sister Kirimi are mourning a woman described as humble and dedicated to service.
May her soul rest in eternal peace.
