A 32-year-old man named Daniel Park was arrested at JFK Airport over last month’s Palm Springs bombing.

A man from Kent, Washington, has been arrested by the FBI in connection with the car bombing that shook a fertility clinic in Palm Springs. Daniel Park, 32, was taken into custody on Tuesday night as he arrived at John F. Kennedy International Airport. Although officials haven’t disclosed the precise charges, they’ve confirmed that Park is now a key figure in the ongoing investigation.

The blast, which happened outside the American Reproductive Centers, sparked chaos across Palm Canyon Drive. The explosion, which witnesses described as deafening, shattered nearby windows and left debris scattered across the area. A body was found near a burned car outside the clinic, later identified as Guy Edward Bartkus.

Attack Tied to Anti-Natalist Beliefs

Investigators believe Bartkus carried out the bombing and died in the blast. He was reportedly part of a fringe group known as the anti-natalists, who oppose childbirth and human reproduction. Officials suspect he was targeting the clinic as an act of domestic terrorism and had tried to broadcast the explosion online—though the attempt failed.

The clinic, which offers services like IVF and fertility treatments, was left heavily damaged. Authorities executed a search at Bartkus’ residence in Twentynine Palms, an area also known for its Marine base. While it’s still unclear whether he meant to kill himself in the blast, FBI agents say the planning behind the attack points to deeper ideological motives.

Experts believe powerful explosives like TNT or dynamite were used—materials that are hard to obtain but not out of reach for determined individuals. The FBI is calling the blast one of the most severe bombings in Southern California in recent memory, and investigations are ongoing to trace how the suspects got the materials and planned the attack.

More updates are expected as authorities work to uncover Park’s exact involvement.
