Jota and his sibling tragically lost their lives in a fire…
The incident that claimed the lives of Diogo Jota and his brother was attributed to a tire blowout on their Lamborghini.
As reported by BBC Sport, both individuals were traveling at an excessive speed. While attempting to overtake another vehicle, one of the tires burst, resulting in the Lamborghini losing control, rolling over, and igniting.
Unfortunately, they were trapped inside the car as it became engulfed in flames. Their identities were only established through the vehicle’s license plate.
The tire failure occurred during a high-speed maneuver when the Portuguese forward was trying to pass another car. Following the blowout, the sports car veered off into a ditch, overturned, and subsequently caught fire.
This tragic event took place at kilometer 65 of the A-52 highway, close to Palacios de Sanabria in Zamora.
