Indian BSF Soldier Detained: Reports from Indian media indicate that a soldier from the Border Security Force (BSF) inadvertently crossed the international border.
The Indian soldier was apprehended in the Ferozepur district of Punjab.
He has been identified as Constable P K Singh, serving in the 182nd battalion of the BSF.
Indian media reports state that Singh accidentally crossed into Pakistani territory.
On Thursday, Pakistan Rangers reportedly captured the Indian soldier after he strayed into their area.
According to India Today, during standard movement, Singh moved past the Indian border fence, leading to his detention by the Pakistan Rangers near the Ferozepur border.
This incident occurred amid heightened tensions between the two nations following an attack targeting tourists in the Indian-administered region of Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK).
Pakistan Suspends Trade and Closes Airspace to Indian Aircraft
In a retaliatory action amid escalating tensions from New Delhi, the National Security Committee (NSC) of Pakistan has issued a warning that any attempt by India to redirect water that rightfully belongs to Pakistan will be deemed “an act of war.”
This response follows India’s unilateral suspension of the long-standing Indus Water Treaty and other measures taken against Pakistan after the recent attack on tourists in IIOJK.
The attack on Tuesday resulted in the deaths of 26 individuals, including one citizen from Nepal.
The Indian government attributes responsibility for the attack to Pakistan, a claim that Islamabad has strongly denied, labelling it a “false flag operation.”
Key Decisions from the NSC
– Pakistan rejects India’s suspension of the Indus Waters Treaty.
– Any water diversion will be regarded as an act of war.
– The Wagah Border is closed to all Indian land traffic.
– SAARC visa exemptions for Indian nationals are immediately revoked.
– Indian citizens are required to leave Pakistan within 48 hours.
– Indian defence advisors are declared persona non grata.
– The staff of the Indian High Commission is limited to 30 individuals.
– Pakistan has closed its airspace to Indian airlines without exception.

– The NSC asserts that Indian aggression reinforces the Two-Nation Theory.
The NSC has also indicated that Pakistan reserves the right to suspend all bilateral agreements with India, including but not limited to the Simla Agreement, until India ceases its actions that incite terrorism within Pakistan, transnational killings, and violations of international law and UN resolutions concerning Kashmir.
