Winnie Odinga daughter of the late Raila Odinga on 4th January took online to share an emotional post as she remembered her brother Fidel death that happened 11 years down the line.
This is because on a day like that is when her elder brother Fidel Castro Odinga died, albeit 11 years ago.
Winnie Odinga, who is also a Member of Parliament at the East African Legislative Assembly (EALA), therefore used the day to mark the 11th anniversary of Fidel Castro Odinga’s death.
Taking to her instagram stories, she shared a photo that they once took together when he was still alive, and it showed how happy they were together.
Winnie Odinga then accompanied the photo with a caption of her admitting that she missed Fidel Castro Odinga a lot like everyday since his death.
“11 years already! I miss you every day & in every way Baba Allay. 2/11/73 – 4/1/15” she said online.
Fidel Odinga dies
Fidel Odinga, who was the eldest son of Raila Odinga and his wife Mama Ida Odinga, unfortunately passed away on the 4th of January, 2015.
Fidel, who was just 41-years-old at the time, died under mysterious circumstances and to date the cause of his death has not been disclosed publicly.
What is known is that on the day he died, he was found unresponsive in a spare bedroom of his home in Karen, Nairobi.
He was discovered by his wife Lwam Getachew Bekele, whom he had sired a son with.
Fidel Castro Odinga was however laid to rest at his family’s home in Bondo, Siaya County, on January 10, 2015.
