Horror in Kisii: Man Killed by Mob After Allegedly Cooking Wife and Feeding Her to Children

A 50-year-old man was lynched by villagers in Sungubo, Kisii County

Tension and disbelief gripped Sungubo village in Kisii after a mob descended on Stephen Onserio, a 50-year-old man accused of one of the most horrifying crimes in recent memory. He was set on fire by angry locals moments after reportedly confessing to murdering and cooking his wife, then serving her flesh to their children.

The grisly scene unfolded after villagers grew concerned over the sudden disappearance of Onserio’s wife. Suspicious neighbours demanded answers — and what followed left even the boldest shaken.

According to Nyamache OCPD Kipkulei Kipkemoi, Onserio led the residents to his house, where the remains believed to belong to his missing wife were discovered. “They found body parts inside the house,” the officer told sauce.co.ke, confirming that police were too late to save the suspect from mob justice.

What’s even more disturbing is that this wasn’t Stephen Onserio’s first brush with murder. Back in 2007, he had allegedly killed his first wife, but somehow walked free just two years ago under unclear circumstances.

“This man had a past,” Kipkemoi confirmed. “The community already had doubts about him because of what happened years ago.”

In another chilling revelation, authorities reported that Onserio had allegedly impregnated one of his daughters, a minor. She was immediately rescued by neighbours and is now under protection.

The full details of her condition and the timeline of events leading up to the latest crime are still being compiled by investigators.

While police have launched an investigation, they also appealed to the public to avoid taking the law into their own hands, even in the face of such horrific acts. However, villagers say they acted out of fear and anger, unable to wait for formal justice.

The case has left the entire region in shock, triggering calls for stricter oversight on released convicts and better protection for vulnerable members of rural communities.
