Content creator Ntazola Gloria has spoken out strongly after a viral video showed her brother living on the streets and claiming he had been abandoned.
The clip caused an uproar online, leading Gloria to explain the long history behind their strained relationship and why she no longer wishes to intervene.
Gloria confirmed that the man in the viral recording is her biological brother. She said the public is only seeing a small part of a situation that the family has battled for years.
According to her, she has spent a significant amount of her own money, time, and emotional energy trying to help him recover and rebuild his life.
She explained that she once moved him to Nairobi in an effort to give him a fresh start. She personally searched for a house, rented it for him, and paid one year of rent in advance. She also provided weekly shopping and handled his basic needs to help him settle.
Gloria stated that she invested more than KSh 2 million in his rehabilitation over time, hoping he would get better and change his behaviour.
She added that she also paid school fees for his child, amounting to KSh 80,000 per term, and covered additional expenses such as utilities, clothes, household items, transport, and food that went beyond KSh 600,000.
Despite these efforts, the situation reportedly took a devastating turn when her brother allegedly assaulted their elderly mother. Gloria said this incident marked the point where she felt she could no longer continue supporting him.
For her, the matter became about safety, responsibility, and protecting other family members. She stated that she had been patient for years and had given him more chances than many people would ever consider.
Gloria also revealed that at some point she even defended her brother and distanced herself from other family members who warned her about his behaviour.
She said she believed in him and hoped the rehabilitation efforts would help him recover, but nothing changed in the long run. She now believes that her past actions may have enabled him rather than helped him.
After the viral video surfaced, she decided to tell the public the full story to show that her current position is not based on abandonment, but on years of trying, sacrificing, and reaching a painful limit.
She expressed that the matter is now out of her hands, and that she has no intention of bringing him back into her home or supporting him further.
