Gospel singer Loise Kim has revealed a shocking theft that occurred during the burial of late gospel singer Betty Bayo, urging Kenyans to be careful during large gatherings.
In a Facebook post on Thursday, November 20, 2025, Loise described how the incident unfolded as the funeral came to a close.
She noticed a man near her parked car and discovered he had gained access and collected handbags belonging to her and others.
“This evening, as we concluded the burial ceremony… I approached where I had parked my car, and from a few meters I saw a man inside. He got access to my car,” Loise shared.
The man reportedly tried to claim he was not stealing, but Loise said it was clear he had taken the items. She called on everyone to remain vigilant during major events.
“I rushed there and found that he had collected our handbags and was ready to leave. I was shocked. He tried to say he was not stealing, but it was evident that he was,” she added.
Loise also noted that other mourners, including her sister Pastor Anne Lawrence, lost phones and personal belongings.
She urged people to take care of their items, especially during big gatherings.
“I kindly want to advise Kenyans… During big events like this, let us be careful with car safety and our belongings. Today, people lost phones, including my sister and others. I am still in shock,” she said.
The theft happened as mourners were leaving Betty Bayo’s Mugumo Estate home, following a funeral at Ndumberi Stadium that drew thousands of fans, family, and gospel artists. Only close relatives and friends were allowed at the final interment.
