Plane crash near Kisangani: 6 dead, only one survivor
A plane flying from Lubutu crashed near #Kisangani 34 kilometers away, after colliding with a tree on the Ituri road. Six people were killed and only one survivor, according to initial investigations.
Among the dead were two foreign pilots. A colonel commanding the Punia battalion and his wife were killed. One bodyguard died, while another survived and was evacuated in an emergency.
The plane is an Antonov that belonged to a pastor of the City of Refuge church. The lifeless body of the plane’s engineer is taken to the morgue. The Commander of the 3rd Defense Zone is currently on the scene.
