Ceasefire Commences Following Iranian Missile Strikes on Israel

At least six fatalities and 15 injuries, some of which are critical, as reported by Israeli media.

A ceasefire between Israel and Iran went into effect at 0400 GMT on Tuesday after several hours of heightened conflict, during which Iran executed six waves of missile strikes aimed at Israeli territory.

The Israeli military confirmed that a total of 11 missiles were launched from Iran in these six consecutive waves before the ceasefire.

Israeli emergency medical services reported that at least six individuals lost their lives and 15 others sustained injuries—some seriously—when a rocket hit a residential structure in Beersheba, located in southern Israel.

Reports of explosions were also noted in Tel Aviv and central regions of Israel, according to local media sources.

Iranian outlets corroborated the commencement of the ceasefire, indicating it took effect following the “final salvos” of missile attacks.

The Israeli Broadcasting Authority and military radio previously announced the initiation of the ceasefire, though officials in Israel have withheld formal comments.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu had directed his ministers not to discuss the truce publicly.

US President Donald Trump initially disclosed the ceasefire agreement, which entails a staggered cessation of hostilities. Under this plan, Iran would initiate the ceasefire first, followed by Israel after a twelve-hour interval.

A complete termination of hostilities is set to be declared at the end of twenty-four hours.

Israeli media reported that Qatar played a mediating role in facilitating this agreement.
