Cart Pusher Arrested After Fatal Punch in Huruma
A cart pusher has been arrested in connection with the death of a matatu tout in Nairobi’s Huruma area. The incident, which occurred at Sokoni, was triggered by a road rage confrontation. Police reports indicate that the deceased, Kennedy Oduor, a 40-year-old tout from Huruma Sacco, was reversing his matatu when he accidentally hit a handcart loaded with water jerricans.
The cart pusher, angered by the accident, confronted Oduor and allegedly punched him, causing him to fall onto the tarmac. Witnesses said the force of the impact resulted in serious head injuries. Oduor was rushed to the MSF Clinic along Juja Road, but he succumbed to his injuries while undergoing treatment.
Police arrested the suspect, who is now in custody, awaiting his arraignment. Authorities have categorized this incident under murder, emphasizing the dangers of road rage in the country. This case adds to the growing concerns over rising violence in Nairobi’s streets.

Ruiru Woman Found Dead in Her Home
Elsewhere, in Ruiru, Kiambu County, police launched investigations into the mysterious death of a woman who was found lifeless in her home. The deceased, identified as Leah Njambi, had reportedly failed to respond to calls, prompting concerned individuals to check on her at her residence in Kihunguro.
Neighbors broke a window to gain a view inside her house and discovered her body lying on the bed. Authorities responded to the distress call and confirmed that Njambi had been living alone in a single-room house.
No visible injuries were found on her body, and investigators are waiting for an autopsy to determine the cause of death. The body was transferred to Kenyatta University Funeral Home as forensic experts conduct examinations.
