Capital Group Limited has confirmed the appointment of Symon Bargurei as its new Managing Director, a move set to take effect on June 1, 2025. The company hopes this leadership change will inject fresh energy into its efforts to adapt and thrive in Kenya’s fast-evolving media scene.
Bargurei arrives with close to two decades of leadership experience in media, marketing strategy, and corporate growth. He has been instrumental in steering several companies toward innovation and transformation, having held top-level positions at major organisations like Unga Holdings Limited, Nation Media Group, and The Standard Group.
During his time at these firms, he spearheaded product innovations, expanded market presence, and led various strategic projects that earned him a strong reputation in the industry.
Bargurei Brings a Global Edge and Local Focus
Bargurei holds a BA in Economics from the University of Nairobi and an Executive MBA from Strathmore Business School. His leadership training also includes executive programmes at the University of Oxford (UK), IESE Business School (Spain), and the Gordon Institute of Business Science in South Africa.
Known for his practical leadership style and clear focus on consumers, Bargurei is also a member of the Institute of Customer Experience (ICX), a group that promotes customer-focused practices in business. His track record in mentorship and foresight is expected to steer Capital Group into a more agile and innovative phase.
